Since November 8 2016, Ithaca and all of New York’s 23rd Congressional District Democrats have been rallying to overturn their Republican incumbent in 2018. These five men have stepped forward to try and challenge the powerhouse, Tom Reed. Each candidate sits down for a discussion on their campaign as well as a broad array of policy related topics. Each profile is supplemented with an unabridged version of the interview.

Eddie Sundquist is a lawyer from Jamestown New York, but his blue collar roots are strong and that’s evident in this young buck’s run for the house.
Ian Golden owns a running shop and several other small businesses in New York. He’s a grassroots candidate and has promised against using corporate and Super PAC donors in his campaign.
Rick Gallant is a current teacher and major teacher’s union official from the Painted Post Corning School district.
Max Della Pia boasts a long career of civil servitude having spent years as an officer in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve and in between several years in Washington as a congressional liaison in the senate.
John Hertzler is a former Star Trek actor, and his stage experience is following him to the campaign trail where he will attempt to woo republican voters by doing an impression of Mark Twain.
